Clinical Care

Clinical Standards are now available for medical staff review.

Guideline Development Process and Timeline (Resolution of June 10, 2003 Methodist Healthcare Medical Staff Meeting) Best Practice Teams will be appointed by Quality Management Committee of the Medical Staff to develop evidence based guidelines/Care Tracks. These teams will include appropriate representatives from disciplines from each facility. The teams will have 60 days to critique and structure the guidelines; they will then be presented to QM Committee and MEC for approval. There will be 60 days for implementation and education, after which time these guidelines/care tracks will become standard of care for MH. Peer review may occur for omissions of critical indicators.

For more information about evidence based practice guidelines in your clinical field, please refer to the National Guideline Clearinghouse, www.guideline.gov. This is a public resource sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), AMA, US Department of Health and Human Services, and the American Association of Health Plans.
