MEC recently approved a R&R change that clarifies additional EMR training and usage requirements as critical new functionality becomes available. Electronic medication reconciliation falls into this category; therefore training and utilization of this functionality is mandatory for active & courtesy Physicians and AHPs (not required for Affiliate staff).

This coincides with continuing efforts to improve patient safety in our facilities and the implementation of electronic Medication Reconciliation. University went live on 3/5/13, Germantown and South on 4/2/13, and North and Le Bonheur on April 23.

The training module, titled ALL MD - oneChart Quick View - Medication Reconciliation is available on www.chexWeb.com. Failure to complete within 30 days of electronic med rec implementation at a practitioner’s hospital may result in privileges being held in abeyance until training is completed and the new functionality is utilized.

The nationwide shortage of propofol has become critical again and Omnicell stock of the vials will be removed.  Alternative therapy is encouraged where possible.   

Please remember on Monday, February 25th, physicians and their staff will be able to call one number, 516-9000 to schedule appointments for all of our Adult Facilities.

Calcium gluconate and calcium chloride injection are on national shortage due to manufacturing delays, increased demand, and discontinuation of product.  Supply at adult hospitals warrants implementation of a conservation plan.    

Beginning Monday, February 25th physicians, associates and patients will use one number (901-516-9000) for the scheduling of diagnostic appointments.
